NRA Instructor Certification / Processing Fee

Nra_instructor_processing_-_certification_fee2

New instructors should be aware of the processing fees and certification fees that are collected at the successful completion of a training session. The funds (useually a check, or credit card) are made out to the NRA, and sent directly to the NRA by the Training Counselor in the printed course report.

The NRA Training Counselor use to sign the students application on course completion and give the student a pre-stamp NRA envolope to summit their application with the approbriate fees.  The problem was, the TC did not allways summit the course report to the NRA in a timely manner. The result was the NRA had students application with no course report.

The new policy requires the NRA TC to summit the course report with student application and the students credential fees and processing fees.

The NRA "Credential Coordinator" phone # is (703) 267-1427 and the message on their phone says that current processing time is 6-8 weeks from time of recieving course report.

NRA Instructor Benefits

Being an NRA Certified Firearm Instructor has many benefits.

The reward that comes from helping someone to learn to shoot safety, or to see the light bulb turn-on when an person who has been hiting the target sometimes, suddenly start to group is real and meaningful and will have a far reaching effect on not only the individual but also our community.

I did some calls and email and found out that RCBS, Lyman, and MEC all have Instructor Discount Programs. What I did, was send an email letting the company know that I am an active NRA Certified Instructor and would it be possible to get brocher's to hand-out during the class, also did they have an Instructor Discount Program so I could demostrate their product in class. For myself these are companies that I use their product and reccomand to others.

Many companies realize the commitment, and impact NRA Instructors have in our communities. In recognition of the instructors efforts these companies offer discounted program.
